I joined in about '98 at the urging of Matt Boyd.  He and I drove his car to Ric Rainbolt's.  Matt wanted a co-driver because he wanted to leave right after one of his running races, and he said he tended to crash pretty hard a couple of hours after a race.  Up until I took the wheel of Matt's 308 (from Harrisonburg, VA to Knoxville, TN), the most I had drive any Ferrari was about 11 miles.

I wound up buying the ex-Joe Martz 308 from Steve Cook and loved the car until family circumstances forced its sale to a guy in Winnipeg (who made a banzai whirlwind trip from Winnipeg to Fredericksburg, VA and back to pick it up, in about 48 hours!).  I still miss the car, but not the expense(s).  Of course, like I tell everyone, when you're driving the car, you *never* think about the cost!

Made a lot of great friends here - Charles, Dennis, Lashdeep, Steve - and got to meet many, many more at various events and races.  Particularly memorable was the first Indy GP with the FoW Challenge team.  The gate guards said that they would let us bring folks into the garage area on our pit cart - so when we *LOADED* that cart up with a bunch of Listers, well, they let us bring them all in!  heh heh...  It didn't hurt that my wife primed them with lots of hot chocolate (on a blustery cold day in Indy)!  She even served coffee to Mario Andretti!  And Aldo sent us a box of the Ferrari tagged Tic-Tacs from Italy, which we gave out at the races.  Yes, I still have some!  Great memories.  :-)

Anyway, happy to still be here, even if no longer an owner.  The camaraderie is great!
