Results are not the only thing that matter
Stirling Moss never won a championship yet he is considered one of the best there is!
And he is British I might add
And he had something Lewis doesn’t have
Class, Grace and above all sportsmanship
Your wonder kid is a cad, pure and simple
That’s why he will never drive for Ferrari
With regards to his personal style, the sponsors they are the elephant in the room
If he wants to look like a rap star, let him get rap star sponsors
I am sure Trojan would take him!
I have banker friends who have met him here in the states and your right he acts civil in those circumstances
But you can plainly see his non verbal communication in his face when he doesn’t win
Take a moment Lash and look at the others who are on the podium when LH wins
Do you see Long faces?

Sorry my friend he lucked up when he got to Mercedes
Look at the lean years after he won his first championship
When he doesn’t have the car he doesn’t win, pure and simple
He is like an Arab in and F-15
He can turn and burn, but no tactical sense
Don’t ask me how I know

Lewis is Much like JV and Damon Hill, and Jesson Button in wining there championship
They had the car that’s all!
And notice there are no driving academies that they run those former F-1 champs run.
As a person of color it would have been nice if Lewis would have won, taken the trophy thanked all involved on how lucky he is to be one of the chosen few to participate in this fine sport, and been magnanimous.
But no he chooses for it to be an award on BET!

Rick, if it does, then take comfort in knowing he has it.

I met him once before a race and he was polite and talkative when he clearly didn’t need to be. He was also extremely confident as required by his job.

A friend socializes with him 2-3 times each year. He also says the same...polite, well mannered but a real hard nosed winner.

I was not crazy about him ten years ago but have changed my attitude after watching him decimate the competition over and over.

Then I watched him drive a NASCAR really well and learned that he owns a real 427 Cobra because it is a real car.

Or, how he had a special Pagani Zonda commissioned with three pedals.

When he is in the driver’s seat, only results matter.

His choice in hairstyles or clothing doesn’t.

Do we now need to penalize him for choosing the right teams and/or being able to consistently develop a top level car?

So, a skilled driver who can’t pick the right team to sign with is somehow “better”?

This is positively hilarious to me.

Winning a championship is only part driving. You need brains, fitness and technical ability as well.

MS was a great driver...one of the best. Maybe he was missing some brains when he picked the terrible Ferrari but his technical ability allowed him to develop the car into a champ. He had the driving ability and fitness as well.

LH has it all it seems.

To criticize his perfection at *winning* and misconstrue that as a lack of driving ability is giving me a good laugh.

Maybe we should DM him and suggest he send fruit baskets to the last placing drivers and start wearing turtle necks for us?

I see Hamilton as a great driver when he is given a superior car.  What I question is if he can actually "race" head to head when his equipment isn't top class of the field.  Schumacher could in the period before Ferrari was all conquering.  Mandela man handled a car into contention.  Even Max V has shown he can make more out of his equipment than it was supposed to have.  I have a suspicion that Hamilton doesn't have the mental strength to survive racing in mid field.

I do grant that he is a spectacular qualifirler.
