It’s definitely the connection for the temp sending unit is not connected (considering the engine mounts were replaced, it would be easy for that to come undone).

 

The sending unit is located beside where the shift selector enters the front of the oil pan case.

Got the car earlier today and once on the highway, I noticed the hand on the oil temperature gauge had not moved at all. Drove for 40 minutes like that. Oil pressure was good (90-95). Water temp was good too.

Could the mechanic had touched something underneath ? What should I check before bringing it back to my mechanic ?
Never had a gauge fail on me before in 17 years. Except gas gauge.
