Ferrari Mailing List: Oil temperature gauge not working (1981 308 GTSi)

My mechanic changed all 4 engine supports this week. That’s after changing all 
bushings last week. Expensive september. Oye!
Got the car earlier today and once on the highway, I noticed the hand on the 
oil temperature gauge had not moved at all. Drove for 40 minutes like that. Oil 
pressure was good (90-95). Water temp was good too.

Could the mechanic had touched something underneath ? What should I check 
before bringing it back to my mechanic ?
Never had a gauge fail on me before in 17 years. Except gas gauge.
