Finally had a chance to look at this on something bigger than my phone. Odd that the fuselage broke at the leading edge of the wing.... but it broke UP and not DOWN like you normally see with a hard nose wheel hit. Metal fatigue? Nose wheel dug in? Back to cars.... sorta.... ok, not. Jackie Stewart's son, Mark, is a producer on a new (2018) documentary on the Spitfire. Much of the footage focuses on first hand accounts from those who flew the Spitfire. I knew there were a lot of variants on the Spits, just had no clue just how many. If you like that sort of thing (Keegan), it's available on Amazon Prime. It's called "Spitfire"
