Not so sure....

Spent a week+ in London a couple of years ago.  Stayed in a fairly
expensive area of town.  Went to a nice (moderately expensive...) pub
and ordered fish and chips.

I got a whole fish - head, tail, everything - that was deep fried.
Almost no edible flesh.  The pin bones were next to impossible to
remove.  The meal turned into a biology project.

So....  Later on I went to another nice pub.  After the fish and chips
disaster, I noticed that they had filet mignon on the menu.  How can
you screw that up?  Even if over cooked, it should still be edible.
And for me, there is no such thing as under cooked.

What did I get?  They BOILED it!!  I cut into the light grey lump of
meat(?) and clear water poured out.  No flavor at all.

Finally found some good restaurants, but they weren't British.  A
great Italian place, good Thai, and a Mid-Eastern restaurant that was
wonderful.  However, that last one worried me some, as being a Yank, I
was afraid they might poison me.
