Re: 456 Manual

I was under the impression that because of the windows dropping down and rising back up the ½” or so, every time the door is open and closed, it causes the mechanism to fail. I never heard about this different rear window being the solution. Is there more info about this in an accessible service bulletin?

Real fix - at least on the early cars was replacement of the rear fixed windows.  Was a crazy job, had to pull the rear seats and headliner.  Ferrari credited something like 7 hours to do 20 hour of work.

Made the rear window about 1/2” longer, so that the seals lined up better.

Depends how they “fixed” it. If they used all factory parts, probably will need doing again.

It was a weak point with these. I’ve also heard/read rear shocks fail on a regular basis.

Still though, I just love the look of these cars. I think I could live with and deal with those issues. Although I’d rather have the Euro version without airbags.

What type of OBD do these cars use?

Says window regulators replaced. Is that a permanent fix?
