In my Classic Coach days...

355: 4-5 hours To fit a fender 

360: 0 hours for fit 

The big change was the precision of the aluminum cars. Everything was pressed 
or extruded - and there was consistency. 

On the pre 70s cars every panel was essentially custom as the hand formed 
originals have no consistency 

I had heard or read once that over its lifespan the Lamborghini Countach became 
flatter and smoother - because the wood bucks that they used to form the 
panels, were slowly pounded down with each set of panels.
