My father owned a restoration shop from the mid seventies until 1999. The replacement panels for most older vehicles were rough, even the more mass produced. I recall a Maserati Khamsin rear quester panel where the US directional light hole was stamped about an inch lower on the replacement that what was fitted to the car from the factory. Brand new panel requiring cutting and welding and at least 10 hours to fit and align it to the car.
