1981 308 GTSi, I finally removed the moulding (2 long black pieces and 1 small piece in the middle holding everything together with glue. Somebody mentioned the screw for the middle piece had to be unscrewed from the engine bay. I could not see how this could be done at all. But as soon as I played with it, I noticed it was not holding onto anything. I guess the nut fell off years ago (see picture). When I’m through, I’ll just put the 3 pieces back and those pieces are so tight back there they just hold on by themselves. Question #1: My insulation is much thinner than what is on the car (see picture). Should I double it ? Or should I buy the right stuff as soon as possible ? Somebody mentioned Dynamat. Question #2: I think I need to get the whole seat belt off. The top screw was easy, but in the middle you the black plastic cover hiding the everything. The carpet (black cloth) is squeeze behind it. How do I get it undone ? Thank you! Michael Savard (1981 308 GTSi) ![]() ![]() |
