Malcom Bricklin did the same thing around 1970 with FasTrack to get rid of all the Subaru 360's he had sitting around.
I missed it because I was attending the 2nd Indochina war at the time. My wife and Dad went to the one set up at OCIR. Dirt road course lined on the sides by tire walls, external roll cages fitted to the Subaru's.
Dad told me he asked what the shift pattern was, their reply 'Don't worry, put it in 1st and floor it'. If a car went on it's side or top, the attendants would run out, flip it back on all four and push it off. Both of them said it was a hoot. When they ran out of cars, they closed the tracks.

Brian, good point about unsold cars.
During that bad recession in the early 90s, no exotics were selling because of the inflated pre-recession pricing.
It was a great time to pickup some very reasonably priced Ferraris.
Why would you buy a 348 for $150k when a Daytona was the same or less?
Too bad, the other companies didn’t think of a spec race series to clear their inventory.
Most of the others just folded or were bought out by bigger corporations.

Ferrari started the "Challenge" racing series with the 348 because they had so many sitting around unsold.
Good way to sell them and if they get wadded up....who cares?
They were a challenge to sell......
Sorry about that, I will show myself out.

The Ferrari market is the same as the investment community. Always question why someone is pitching something, they are usually talking their book.
Behind every fan of the 348 is a significant other that had a pearl clutching argument to get that miserable POS out of their life.
Your mileage may vary.

Clyde does speak the truth about the warranty claims and all the Recalls and Service Bulletins.
"The warranty claims almost took Ferrari NA into bankruptcy ."
I was told this by my local Ferrari technical rep.

Oh, Clyde. Don't be coy. Tell us what you really think :-)

Please there is no right year for a 348
It was a poorly designed car from the start
It had more service bulletins than the space shuttle
Ask Brian Keegan he keeps the service bulletins on that Italian YUGO!
Case in point the issues you mentioned with wiring harness never showed up in the 328 series among other nightmares in the the 348
The warranty claims almost took Ferrari NA into bankruptcy
A very good friend of mine owns one and I wish him well with it
He likes to live on the edge, I think he works for the CIA actually
He also owned a mondial
But he is the governor so what the heck!
Canadians got the cars because they couldn’t sell them in the US
And they knew the Canadians would only drive them 4 months a year!
So your fooling no one on the virtues of this shit box of a car
I dare say none of you two have ever done a service on one either, nor trouble shooting any issue on this so called master piece from Italy
Find a 348 with 100k on it and let me know
It was a moving parts car when it came out of the factory destined for the ghetto!
With or without the keys in it!
