Hans, I noticed the same on a recent early ZR1 drive.

Very impressive suspension and handling overall though. All of the press accolades in period make perfect sense on the road.

OK, I would forgo the beer storage for a pizza oven. Priorities, I guess.

BTW, when FX3 came out, I was tinkering with the knob, mostly at lower speeds. "Tour" was noticeably spongy, but my seat of pants couldn't really discern the difference in the 2 stiffer modes. That article linked was the first time I had seen the damping curves. Explains a lot. I think the 2nd gen curve set made more sense. Also I remember that replacement dampers were terrifyingly expensive. At least for that time period. Many cars got converted to fixed rate for that reason.

Hans, I was just going to say that your use of those compartments sounds perfectly reasonable.

CG's says he had subwoofers in one iteration of his '85 but I wouldn't be surprised if V1.0 and V1.1 involved a Betamax player or a pizza oven back there.

His car was a rolling power station...

What I hated the most with the introduction of anti-lock braking and
later FX3 was that the "well" behind the driver's seat used to be a
good place for your ice and beer.
