It's ok, I was a "nerdy engineer" more of my life than I was a pilot.

Your Grandfather (in-law) was part of the greatest generation.  Hopefully someone was able to do an oral history with him.

We're all haunted by the things we did, saw...

I hope your son enjoyed his time playing with/for the VFW.  Very honorable thing to do... especially in this age.

Thanks for posting the video.  I have a lot of respect and appreciation for what Clyde went through.  And I now know he is from the Bronx.  I have family that lived in the Bronx for many years and my father did as well.  So I know the Bronx culture 

But here is the thing, you can't play the part of cranky and grizzled old guy and expect to never have anyone push back.  Sure, some people have earned and deserve more latitude.  I get that.  In fact, I have always appreciated and respected guys like Clyde.  My wife's grandfather landed at Normandy.  He was also a cranky guy but I loved that man.  I loved talking to him and hearing his stories.  And, although I was a nerdy engineering type, he was as nice to me as he was to anyone.  That, ultimately, is what drives relationships and even our own level of internal peace.  And that is what I wish for everyone.  I think my wife's grandfather was at peace when he died, even though he was haunted by what he experienced.  We visited him shortly before he passed.  The last thing he said was to take care of each other and our kids.  When my son was in high school, our local VFW sent out a request for someone to play taps at vet funerals and memorial day services.  I told him to jump on it because I knew it would be good for him to spend time with those guys.  

So I guess my point is, maybe try to tip the balance more toward being supportive and less toward being critical.  The alternative creates snark.  That's just the way it is.

When all the electrical stuff is sorted I will move on to detailing.  Any suggestions?

Washing tips?  I have never had a car with single stage paint before.  And it is getting thin in places.

Suggested ceramic coating?

Suggested wax?

Leather cleaner and conditioner?

Wheel cleaner?

Polish for exhaust tips?
