I have to dig that picture up. I printed an 8 X 10 and laid it in the
trunk when I took it to Dick Guthrie for service. Linda saw it and
put it on the wall. It was there for 10+ years right up to when she
sold the repair shop.

Context for those that haven't see it - I was always ribbing Guthrie
about repair costs. It was in good nature, because he actually was
quite reasonable. So I made a cardboard sign - still in my garage -
that says "Ferrari Needs a Tune Up". I stood on the street corner
with a hat on the curb, posing for the photo. While the person with
the camera waited for traffic to clear to take the pic, several people
stopped and dropped money into the hat.

Also hanging on Guthrie's wall was a photo of the car with a Domino's
sign on top. I told him that I had resorted to pizza delivery to pay
his bill.

The first time I took the car to him, I asked what was his preferred
method of payment. He said "gold bars". When I asked what was his
labor rate, he said $600 per day. He didn't have an hourly rate. How
much for belts? "A day". How much for a water pump? "Half a day when
done with belts". Etc.

Hans.
