Good point but Porsche already sells enough cars to Car People.

Maybe they are trying to get their brand in front of non-Car People?

The new age of F1 fans like racing and not necessarily cars in general.

Those people don't have a Porsche...yet!

Does the average person know they ever raced in F1 and does it really matter to them? I know the adage “it takes money to make money” but I don’t see what kind of gain they can make here.
