Mark, do you have a scope or mission statement for the entire project?

Maybe a list of items you will want or need in the trailer and then a schedule of events?

I average approx. 1,000 miles towing each month with a variety of trailers.

There is quite a range in the "towing spectrum".

The low end is just getting from point A to point B without loss of life or property.

The other end of the spectrum is towing up a hill in the Rockies at 85-90mph while listening to Van Halen in climate controlled comfort.

It does sound fun, mainly an excuse to hang out with my son J  We will be picking up a tow vehicle also, just learning about the various options – right now it looks like a diesel Silverado 2500 with a 24-28ft trailer, but nothing is set in stone.  I have not pickup experience and am looking for on the road comfort in addition to reliability and towing capacity.

Fun project and goal!

Assume you have a tow vehicle already?

That will dictate a lot of your trailer design as it is a vital component of your transport system.

So it looks like my son and I are starting racing team, and decided that Spec Racer Fords are a little more economical than a Ferrari team to start out with🙃

We are picking up two cars and need to figure out how to move them around and then also how to stay at the track.

Does anybody have experience with a low profile stacker type trailer? Something that could stack two 308's in 13ft of length and 8.5ft height?

We are two mechanical engineers, and are thinking about designing a stacker lift for the trailer and then building out the front as a living/workspace....

Would love to know if anybody has any designs, photographs or comments on how to make race day as efficient and fun as possible.

Thanks
