It’s all well and good that Ferrari’s illustrious past enables them to get buckets of cash from participation and logo wear sales but that won’t stay high as the glory years recede farther and farther into the past. 

Just ask Williams or McLaren.

It all comes down to whether you want to be a cynic or a skeptic.  I'm just not willing to go full cynic.  In general, I try to avoid that.  I am fine thinking either is possible.  Whether they only care about money or money and winning, I can also say that cynics who assume the worst of others, without proof, are usually guilty of the ethical or moral deficiency, they are ascribing to others, themselves.
