Yeah, it looks like a 308 block.  Supposedly, the casting on the Dino series blocks were all very similar.  Some were then modified for dry sump and so on.  I don't know if the cams are particularly special but he slapped 348 heads on that block after it was bored out.  I would guess that the crank is close to a 360 crank and the same with the pistons.  The compression ratio is probably pretty high and I'm sure the exhaust is tuned.  That plus the velocity stack intake buys you some extra HP.  Still, to get to 400HP, you are probably right in that the cams are a bit hotter than normal.

Jay made a mistake. A quick glance of the cam covers and it looks to me like it is a 308 or 328 motor that has been punched out to 3.6L. Induction is  ITB’s with, for sure, sequential injection. Hotter cams definitely.

I’m not keen on the larger displacement, but my GT4 will get a lot of these mods.

I am confused about the engine.  He said F40 but that engine has an air intake that can't be fed by a turbo.  Did he take an F40 engine and bore it out to 3.6L but skipped the turbo?  Or is it a 308, 328, 348 or 355 engine bored out?  I have seen intake kits like that for the 348.  But he is also claiming a pretty high HP which you aren't getting from custom intake, exhaust and bored out cylinders.

Indeed.

But it goes to show you how you can backdate a modern powertrain into the old chassis and it’s literally a bolt-in fit.

Remember the David Goldsmith 308 V-12 conversions? I’ve got the manual. Yeah, lots of custom machining and welding but the whole works still fits in that engine bay.
