I think the best part of the race was Antonelli quietly dragging his Merc from 16th to 4th in his F1 debut. (Stewards reversed their penalty)
Why didn't Ferrari lock this young Italian in the team earlier?

Fair point, and my previous comment not withstanding, crashing on the formation lap of your F1 debut has got to be demoralizing and ego-crushing.
Frankly, I don't recall either Hakkinen's or Sainz's situations. And for good or bad, better or worse, like it or not - I'm still very impressed with A. Hamilton's behavior with the young kid. No one else did that for him.
I remember an interview 2 or 3 DECADES ago with a driver (which one, I've now forgotten) who said that, while coming up through the karting ranks, every time it rained, he was out there pounding around the track, learning that wet weather car control. I hope
this kid gets a similar opportunity, and even if he never becomes another Senna, Schumacher, Prost, Mansell, Hamilton, or Verstappen, that he's able to make a respectable recovery from this lousy start so he won't be remembered just for this.
My two drachma. (And we know what those are worth these days! Ha!)

Hey we all remember Mika Hakkinen crying in the woods - and he was a two-time world champion.
Showing emotion is not necessarily a sign of weakness.

"Helmut's tact", or "Helmut's lack of tact".... ?? 😉 But seriously, I do agree that it's not first grade, and that he should not have been so emotional at this stage. I would think that would be out of him by now.
Thanks!

Helmut Marko took a more Austere Austrian approach. While Anthony was indeed kind, I believe Helmut's tact will do the young man more good. But that is the warrior's approach, FWIW?? This is not first grade in racing.
