FYi gang looks as if the tables have turned for Renualt Clyde Romero Ferrari's and Ducati's Fly Fast N' Check Six! -----Original Message----- From: f1hcc [at] yahoogroups.com [mailto:f1hcc [at] yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of David Wholihan Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2006 1:49 PM To: f1hcc [at] yahoogroups.com Subject: [f1hcc] Renault loses appeal! The Renault F1 team's hopes of being able to regain the use of its mass damper system for the rest of the season have been quashed by the FIA International Court of Appeal, which has ruled such systems illegal, overturning the decision by the German HYPERLINK "http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/31561/" \nGrand Prix stewards that the device was within the regulations. Renault had challenged and overturned a ban by the governing body on the mass damper system installed in the nose of its HYPERLINK "http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/31561/" \ncar when they presented its spare car for scrutineering with the device fitted ahead of the German Grand Prix. The Hockenheim stewards found nothing illegal about the system and declared the car within the regulations. The FIA, however, appealed the decision of its own stewards, setting up the decisive legal hearing in Paris yesterday, whose decision was announced today. "The FIA International Court of Appeal met in Paris on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, to examine the appeal made by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile against Decision No. 8 handed down by the Stewards of the Meeting on July 28, 2006, concerning the T car of competitor Mild Seven Renault F1 on the occasion of the Grand Prix of Germany and counting towards the 2006 FIA Formula 1 World Championship," said the Court of Appeal in a statement. "Having heard the explanations of both parties and having examined the various documents and other evidence, the Court quashed decision No. 8 of the Stewards of the Meeting and ruled that use of the device known as a Tuned Mass Damper is an infringement of Article 3.15 of the Formula One Technical Regulations." The system had been used by Renault since September last year, but the FIA said in July that it constituted a moveable aerodynamic device and was therefore illegal. The Renault team did not use the system in either Germany or Hungary for fear of eventual disqualification if the FIA won the appeal - a wise decision, as it turns out. __._,_.___ HYPERLINK "http://geo.yahoo.com/serv?s=97476590&grpId=1860868&grpspId=1600066491&msgId =17896&stime=1156355931" SPONSORED LINKS HYPERLINK "http://groups.yahoo.com/gads;_ylc=X3oDMTJjcXRoM2c0BF9TAzk3NDc2NTkwBF9wAzEEZ 3JwSWQDMTg2MDg2OARncnBzcElkAzE2MDAwNjY0OTEEc2VjA3NsbW9kBHN0aW1lAzExNTYzNTU5M zE-?t=ms&k=Water+sports&w1=Water+sports&w2=Auto+racing+shoes&w3=Auto+racing+ shoes&w4=Sport+fishing&w5=Auto+racing+safety+equipment&c=5&s=117&g=0&.sig=Iy CauL3BP1UUYCveeo_Ojw"Water sports HYPERLINK "http://groups.yahoo.com/gads;_ylc=X3oDMTJjMWh0bWQzBF9TAzk3NDc2NTkwBF9wAzIEZ 3JwSWQDMTg2MDg2OARncnBzcElkAzE2MDAwNjY0OTEEc2VjA3NsbW9kBHN0aW1lAzExNTYzNTU5M zE-?t=ms&k=Auto+racing+shoes&w1=Water+sports&w2=Auto+racing+shoes&w3=Auto+ra cing+shoes&w4=Sport+fishing&w5=Auto+racing+safety+equipment&c=5&s=117&g=0&.s ig=i2dsLRUgWfDmDvC3G3zfwQ"Auto racing shoes HYPERLINK "http://groups.yahoo.com/gads;_ylc=X3oDMTJjZDZsYXM1BF9TAzk3NDc2NTkwBF9wAzMEZ 3JwSWQDMTg2MDg2OARncnBzcElkAzE2MDAwNjY0OTEEc2VjA3NsbW9kBHN0aW1lAzExNTYzNTU5M zE-?t=ms&k=Auto+racing+shoes&w1=Water+sports&w2=Auto+racing+shoes&w3=Auto+ra cing+shoes&w4=Sport+fishing&w5=Auto+racing+safety+equipment&c=5&s=117&g=0&.s ig=i2dsLRUgWfDmDvC3G3zfwQ"Auto racing shoes HYPERLINK "http://groups.yahoo.com/gads;_ylc=X3oDMTJjaTZwcmV0BF9TAzk3NDc2NTkwBF9wAzQEZ 3JwSWQDMTg2MDg2OARncnBzcElkAzE2MDAwNjY0OTEEc2VjA3NsbW9kBHN0aW1lAzExNTYzNTU5M zE-?t=ms&k=Sport+fishing&w1=Water+sports&w2=Auto+racing+shoes&w3=Auto+racing +shoes&w4=Sport+fishing&w5=Auto+racing+safety+equipment&c=5&s=117&g=0&.sig=4 b9byjiKXLRvuBePSUadQg"Sport fishing HYPERLINK "http://groups.yahoo.com/gads;_ylc=X3oDMTJjdnJrNjRhBF9TAzk3NDc2NTkwBF9wAzUEZ 3JwSWQDMTg2MDg2OARncnBzcElkAzE2MDAwNjY0OTEEc2VjA3NsbW9kBHN0aW1lAzExNTYzNTU5M zE-?t=ms&k=Auto+racing+safety+equipment&w1=Water+sports&w2=Auto+racing+shoes &w3=Auto+racing+shoes&w4=Sport+fishing&w5=Auto+racing+safety+equipment&c=5&s =117&g=0&.sig=KLsDRjxRLdediBpLzDJLFg"Auto racing safety equipment _____ YAHOO!
