My esteemed friend cLyDe: I believe the question was between the 512M and
the 512TR, not the TR and the 512TR.

IMHO, not that much difference behind the wheel between the 512M and 512TR.
Styling diffs are the biggest difference, and some reliability improvements
with the upgraded T.O. bearing, some titanium bits, and I believe the input
shaft. Any time anything on my 512TR breaks or wears out that can be
replaced with a 512M piece, I do it. Not so much for performance, but for
reliability.

Major league differences all the way around from acceleration and most
definitely braking and handling.
They are not even in the same class
The 512 TR which I call the series 2 is head and shoulders above the TR.
