John:

I'm willing to work with Ferrari to correct the car to the way it was when
it came out of the factory. I'm also doing it because I appreciate the
spirit of the rules. I've become a bit turned off with the direction that
judging has gone, no race car that ever came out of Maranello ever looked
the way some of the cars now look on the lawn at Pebble.

The money issue isn't so much of an issue to me (hell, PF asked me if I
wanted to be the first one to extensively modify a F430, wife said save the
money for the baby Bugatti), if they take care of me and make more spares
available, I'm willing to help them out financially.

Some might see it as I get a nice little binder and a neat certificate, but
I see it as doing business with Ferrari directly and being taken care of in
the process. The more I work with these guys, the less issue I have with
spending money with them. I also think it will be fun to watch what they do
with all of the cars that have been faked over the years. Especially from
restoration shops that really do know better.

Besides, someone needs to have the best shit box Mondial 8 out there...

Cheers,
Erik

Hi Erik

I've wondered what the benefits would be for doing this with our not so
expensive models, such as Mondials and 400i.

What do you hope to get out of it?

John
