Re: Michael retired - or forced out?

Actually, I don't see anything here that we didn't already know.
The SpeedTV F1 trio and Windtunnel basically told us this story
as it was occurring. The article is probably over-dramatizing
a bit. However, it was clear in the Monza post race scenes that
there was some sort of animosity between Luca and the other
players.

Simply put, Ferrari had little choice but to grab Kimi while he
was available, as top line drivers don't become free agents
that often. Schumacher simply had to decide whether
or not he wanted to drive alongside Kimi.

I think Schumacher selfishly wants a weaker co-driver, one that
won't upstage him, one that he can control. That's why he
appeared to be buddy-buddy with Massa. But expecting Kimi
to bow to Michael? Forget it.

Altho Michael would have preferred it, the team needs something
other than a place-holder in the second seat. Expect Massa to
be gone if someone better comes along.

What really surprises me is Michael's decision to stay with the
team in some sort of advisory role.

Hans.

From the October 2006 issue of Business F1 magazine, this article
details some of the behind the scenes intrigue surrounding Michael's
retirement. Interesting reading, for sure.

won't be subscribing any time soon (http://www.businessf1.com/).
