Yeah, having a bad day, sorry Rodney. I agree completely and apologize to you
and the list if I was a bit over the top there. Sigh.
Since we're on the topic, what do you think about these as possibilities?
Z32 300 ZX
SC300
911SC
944 turbo (951)
944S2
for dependability, fun, (relative) low maintenance/service/parts cost, and of
course, the most important, probably, the GRIN factor?
Thanks again, and sorry for that, dude.
Best,
Tom
P.S. And still thinking about Dave's Mondial coupe, but I'd have to get
another job...or ditch the wife...(tongue in cheek)

You miss understood me Tom (and probably everyone else)! I meant that all
the cars that I mentioned are very, VERY capable and that everyone on this list
should know that already! I just hate it when someone quotes performance
numbers only and have never driven the car they put down or praise one that
really isn't that great of a "driver"! Those that own or at least driven a
Ferrari already know that performance is more than about measured numbers. One
of my favorite rides was in an MG (or maybe it was the crazy owner behind the
wheel?!?) Anyway, that has to be one of the slowest "numbers" performing car
that I have ever been in BUT it was a hell of a lot of FUN!!!!

Rodney,
You are wacko. I used to own a '78 308gt4 and have been on this list
(the old one and now the "new" one) since around '96 or so. Forgive me, but
since when is it a crime to discuss other cars of a performance nature?
I've had a Miata R, have driven the Z roadster and didn't like it, (at least
not as much as the Boxster I drove the same day) but I don't want to be
saddled with a possible recurring RMS problem on it. (rear main seal on
Boxster, also on other water cooled Porsche cars). The S2000 is on the
short list, however.
Thanks for your feedback,
