Quoting Jason Polzer <jason [at] internethosting.com>:
I heard the HD versions were *still* Tivo's, please confirm, thanks!
No, they are not.
DirecTV and TiVo are no longer cobranding anything.
The HR10-250 is no more (for new sales).
Many of the existing ones had a "curious failure" over the last months as they were updated by DirecTV. Coincidence, or...?!?
Ours began to stutter/etc during live TV viewing, and then froze solid on a "Clear and Delete Everything".
Hard disk or intentional "kill signal" from DTV?!?
Well, they offered to replace it for free with an HR20-xxx and also replace both my H10 HD non-DVR's with H20's capable of MPEG4, and install a new (5 LNB) dish all for free.
HR20 is in the back of my Jeep now, to be installed tonite.
H20's and new dish on Wed. afternoon.
