I've heard this before - to me, certainly no expert - it would still be theft - theft by fraud. Afterall, when you let someone testdrive a car the understanding is you;ll either get the car back or a bag of money. Of course, not being a lawyer or congressional lawmaker I tend to rely on logic more than those who make and prosecute our laws do. ;-)

Hey Brian - Wow - what you list is a LOT of work. Why not just put on a red
vest in from of a Pizza joint (that has NO valet parking) and valet park a
few cars a night? heh heh
Oh, I am not laughing - its been done, with mighty fine results. One
example was even done by some agency or insurance company just to prove how,
uh, trusting (spelled s-t-u-p-i-d in some other language) the average Joe
is. There were no permanent losses in this case.
DOUG
PS - selling a car? Give your keys to the would be buyer? They split? You
file a claim with your insurance carrier for theft? BUWHAahahahahahahaha -
sorry Charlie, it "conversion" and there may be NO coverage. Best to go
with the perp, uh, buyer, and be told to get out of the car a block later.
