uh - cLyDe:
Cars from the WW2 Fascist Axis:
Porsche
Mercedes -while they were building the 190 SL they also turned out a few 300 SL Gullwings
BMW
Audi
Ferrari
Alfa-Romeo
Maserati
and more recently
Toyota
Lexus
Honda, etc.
Cars from the Allies: Vauxhall Triumph Morgan Nash Studebaker Simca
yeah I'm being selective, but I'll take a Fascist S class over a UAW Cadillac any day
Cars from the Commies Trabant Yugo Lada
Cars don't reflect politics in as much as national character:
Italian cars are gorgeous, extremely fast and very temperamental - hey, they're Italian!
French cars look kinky and take good care of your ass - what the French care about.
English cars require a great deal of puttering, and are innocent of the laws of electricity, but they do a great job of the traditional wood inside.
American cars are cheap, snapped tpgether, low maintenance, and disposable. And everyone has one. The Model 'T" brought cars to the masses.
Japanese cars - exquisitely assembled, utterly reliable appliances. Toasters on wheels from the land of 15 mph.
German cars: fast, over-engineered, high maintenance rockets that can only be serviced by factory mechanics using factory tools, come in your choice of grey or black. The seats are hard but you WILL get used to them, ja?

This was the first attempt by the NAZI car maker Merecedes to make a sports
car hence SL (sports light) for the masses. It handles like a Kmart shopping
car with a bad wheel. But the Nazi car crown needed something back then to
feel good about. If you wanted luxury and a little sportyness you bought
this car since sports cars were considered unreliable etc etc.
This is the same model that the current Nazi SL is based on. Unfortunately
the people who buy these cars would not be caught in anything else. A car
from a country who lost both world wars!
My 2 cents!
Ps who's going to Montreal next week?
