Great comments as always, clyde. But I'm distracted by an element down in
your sig that I've never noticed before.

What's a "manpad?" Does it have anything to do with a "manpon?"

This was the first attempt by the NAZI car maker Merecedes to make a sports
car hence SL (sports light) for the masses. It handles like a Kmart shopping
car with a bad wheel. But the Nazi car crown needed something back then to
feel good about. If you wanted luxury and a little sportyness you bought
this car since sports cars were considered unreliable etc etc.
This is the same model that the current Nazi SL is based on. Unfortunately
the people who buy these cars would not be caught in anything else. A car
from a country who lost both world wars!
My 2 cents!

Ps who's going to Montreal next week?

I have never understood the appeal of the 190SL because of it's very
pedestrian performance.  How the prices of these cars have gotten to where
they are now is a mystery because, while I think that they are attractive
enough, they will not have strong investment appeal (to me at least) and are
overvalued.

Just MHO

Good morning all, as usual, showing my blatant disrespect for all normalicy,
I
ant to tell you about a car that I have come across.
Mercedes, 1956 190SL "BARN FIND", this car has been in storage for over 30
years
t has a serious case of PATINA, there is some top side surface rust, and in
act, I believe that most if not all of this will come off with a good
rofessional detailing.
I am looking for a buyer who would like to own a future collectible/driver
of
alue but can not invest $50,000.00 to 100,000.00 I think that this car can
be
erviced detailed and prepared for show as a survivor for @ $15,000.00 and
robably less and of course much less if you are a competent DIY owner.
What is most valuable with this car, is that I ( and an extremely competent
estoration shop) have both been under it, we can detect NO RUST!
I am not normally a proponent of cars as investments, how ever, this time I
hink I cn safely say that this will be better than leaving your money in a
CD.
But that is JMHO)
If you are interested, the price is $25,000.00 here in Phila. If you are not

nterested but like looking back and saying coulds shoulds, print this out
and
ead it again next year.
