Hi Michael,
I'm afraid it's not really about them not offering something - it's all about their control of the name Ferrari & the Prancing Horse. They've come close to losing their property rights in the past for not aggressively protecting the Horsey - remember the 365 Daytona replica of Miami Vice fame? They won that time and the replica maker had to stop but it was touch and go for a while. At one point there was a whole gang of people making replica Ferrari's.
Now, consider the Cobra replica business - Ford/Shelby (whoever owns the name) failed to act quickly to control their rights and they lost them.
I doubt you woud have any luck pleading your case with Ferrari - they pretty much *have* to attempt to protect the use of their Horse - else they'll lose it forever - & once the horse is out of the barn it's *real* tough to put it back in..
Your only possibility will be to market it without mentioning Ferrari or F308/328/355/365,360,399, etc, etc - they no doubt hold the rights to those and a whole list of other names - but it would be pretty difficult to market a Ferrari 308 parts list without mentioning it was for a Ferrari 308 either in the ad or in the parts list-

I'm no lawyer - but that's my interpretation of the situation.

I’ve been selling copies of my parts manual (1981 308 GTSi) for many years on Ebay. A few months ago, Ebay cancelled my auction. I took the word “copy” out of the title and the description. I sold them again and it worked for a few months before Ebay cancelled my auction again saying that Ferrari doesn’t allow this.
Ebay gave me a Ferrari email address in case I wanted to bring my case to Ferrari. Now before I do that, I need some help as to what I should write to Ferrari about that. After all, they don’t make new parts manual for old cars anymore, they don’t sell copies neither. So, why do they bother ?
Please help me make a strong case to Ferrari.
