I definitely agree with your last comment. However, the boy in me still wants to go to the track.
At Indy, I sit in J Stand because I can see the action at Turn 1, and something like the first 7 or 8 turns. Lots of good action. So I guess I prefer to see the action on the track first and foremost. Mostly turns and braking/acceleration.
However, I miss all of the live pre and post-race "action" on the grid and trophy presentation - watching instead on the big screen at the track.
On practice & qualification days I sit in the stands across from the pits to see the crews work.
BTW - What's in the "Bud Tent"?

It really depends on what your definition of "best" is. Do you want the best sounds? Best view of the track? Best access to the Bud Tent?
The best view of any race is from home on a large TV...
