Well, from the few guys I know here who have Ford GTs (I know one guy who
saved up all his money through three combat deployments and paid cash for
one, the owner of a local gunshop, and one of the local attorneys) they sure
seem to have the reliability of a Mondial 8. Electrical Gremlins 'R' Us.
Two of the guys have gotten stranded at various points, the other's car
alarm keeps going off all day every day, two of them have a window that
opens about 50% of the time, one of them has a turn signal that only turns
on about 25% of the time, etc. etc. Don't get me wrong, they're fast,
visceral, beautiful machines, and I really enjoyed driving them, but there's
just a something missing there, a "soul" if you will. Just my opinion, but
while they were tremendously fast (scarily so, in the case of the gun shop
owner's car, his is putting out ~750hp) they just seemed to be missing that
certain je ne sais quoi that makes an exotic truly exotic. Having said
that, if I had enough disposable cash to own one along with a bevy of
Ferraris, would I? Oh, yeah. Hell, I'd buy one just to stare at it and
hear that engine. It really is a stunning car, especially in black, and the
sound with the Ford Racing exhaust is pretty damned sweet. And LOUD. Did I
mention loud?
