I saw the Ford GT when it was first shown at the US F1 GP with Stewart driving.
It was VERY disappointing because they left the stock exhaust on - and we had
just been listening to F1 cars! The M-B safety car sounded MUCH better.

Larry:

Not having driven a 360, I can't make a completely accurate comparison, but
I have driven the Ford GT and my 348 Spyder.

First let me note that while the Ford was a new experience for me and
driving the Ferrari was "routine" and that might have slightly affected my
perceptions but I'll try not to let that happen.

The two cars I've driven (348 & Ford GT) seemed like they came from
different worlds in many ways. My Ferrari is visceral, sort of like a scrotum
on 4
wheels while the Ford GT was quieter and more comfortable in many ways (but
then again it was a brand new car at the time so that also contributes to this
perception). The Ford was seriously quieter, but then again it was not a
Spyder, the seats fit my middle age crisis ass a bit better, and it seemed
somewhat faster than the 348, but it being new, and the owner sitting right
next to
me and looking over my shoulder with some apprehension while I was in control
of his new car, for which he had taken a second mortgage on his house, to
acquire so it I never really had the chance to run it out.

To me, the Ford seemed a little like an Aston Martin, but without the
ambience of the old English club that I find the most attractive trait of the
Aston
Martin while my Ferrari felt, as you all know, like a Ferrari. If I were to
re-mortgage to buy a car (something that, unless Altzheimer's prematurely
strike will never happen) and I had my choice between the Aston Martin and the
Ford GT I'd go with the Aston Martin, probably a 12 cyl. DHC, or one of the
newer series Bentley's as a better second choice, but I did enjoy the Ford GT
and in that fantasy world of being able to buy as many cars as I could ever
want I would include one in my stable.

Also, Roger has had virtually no trouble, mechanically or otherwise, with
his Ford GT in the 12k-14k mi. that he has driven it but it is a stock (if that

word ever applies) car from Ford and that might be a contributing factor to
his trouble free ownership.
