I'll take a diesel (CDI, TDI, Bluetec, whatever) with a manual transmission and sport suspension. Just make it "affordable" and dependable (including of course the car's other ancillary systems) and I'll buy. I don't really care for all that power, in day to day driving it's pretty much like giving a pig a strawberry, so to speak. 0-60 MPH in 5 seconds or so (or less) is nice on paper (and in the small of the back) but it's not too often that you really need to use it. IMO handling (cornering, braking, transitional response) and fuel economy are more important in a daily driver than pure acceleration. But then again, that's just me. Interesting discussion, I just hope you guys are still friends. As far as the best way to increase engine power, I'll leave that to the respective engineering departments of the automakers. And, of course, not to be forgotten, the cost accountants and marketing departments. *sigh* Tom in Tulsa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis Liu" <bigheaddennis [at] gmail.com> To: "Tom Reynolds" <kjtar [at] cox.net> Cc: "The FerrariList" <ferrari [at] ferrarilist.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2007 9:25 PM Subject: [Ferrari] Well, that just about sums it up > I'm pretty much blown away by this statement from Lashdeep.
