Deep socket. AND then the nut is corroded to the ultra fine, but ever so
racing light 3 inch die stock that if turned too far in, cracks the
gazillion dollar lamp housing. OH, yesh, and mind you to get those lamp
housings snuged up juuuuust so - too loose, water comes in; too tight - ya
crack a housing. Gawd I love working on my car. heh heh

Good point, Rick. Today I've removed the rear lamps from my 328. The signal lights were easy. The brake lights were a completely different matter. I don't know if it is the same on the 308 (probably is) but it is close to impossible to get at the 7mm hex nuts !!!! There is a structural part of the car that gets in the way, and the only way I can think of is removing the rivets were the covers (with the lamp) attach. That makes for 12 rivets to drill, remove and then replace just to get at the 7mm hex nuts. Nuts is the right word, I guess .....

Bob, et al.,
I have found, as Bob has pointed out, that Ferrari sometimes chooses the most complex and arcane solutions to common automotive engineering problems. And these are not performance solutions, just awkwardly complex solutions. Perhaps the designers didn't subscribe to automotive engineering journals?
