That reminds me of the drivers who were "discovered" who reportedly had minimal
driving experience. Seems like one had never driven a car before - but that's
my memory of the situation - it may have been he had lots of experience racing
snow machines or something ;-) But I'm pretty sure there was more than one -
probably several - who fell into the catagory of having minimal experience
driving before being thrust into F1.

Personally I thought that somehow unfair to all those who had grown up with a
burning desire to race - not just F1 - but to race *anything* - guys like Mario
Andretti and jim Clark - real natural drivers to be sure - but people with a
huge desire to drive race cars because they *loved* driving.

I think dis-allowing the electronic controls would put the skill back into the
driver's hands and head - although as you mentioned about Massa and others that
crash on the 1st corner - some need more "Head" help than others - maybe Massa
was looking for the "1st Corner" button on his steering wheel? Some talent at
work there.

Of course, aids such as the button for pit lane speed might be acceptable - not
much skill improvement to be gained there. Of course, there's something to be
said for the guys who *can* control their speed in the pit lane just like they
should be able to control it on the track.

I thought this past race was great and much better than the boring parade of
years past. Shame about Ferrari but the guys that won really drove to the win
but not making mistakes. What the heck was that bone-head move that Massa
pulled on the first corner? He can't make it around the first bend without
crashing?

Frankly I love the no TC rule. The cars are really racing and finally some
skill is required. I think its great that its still a wide open field in terms
of who will be on the podium in Malaysia.
