ca Ken sez "The F1 cars in the movie are mostly mocked-up Formula 3 cars made to look like contemporary F1 models, although the film also used footage
from actual F1 races."
Ahhh, yesh - that is UNTIL the last race. When the filming started - the actors were treated rather poorly as their predecessors on the celluloid race tracks (The Green Helmet et all) had made a hash of the sport - but as the movie progressed and egos flared - the real drivers chimed in - HEY, how do WE get in this thing? And there you have the big rain dance discussion scene just before the Intermission.
And then the last race, ah yes - the fabulous H-16 on song. Theory being that per cubic engine size, the greater the square piston area the greater the horse power. Up to a point. Ah well, the H-16 sure was interesting. Wonder what ever happened to it.
Yeah, GP, the movie. As with Bullitt - GP marks a motor filming high point - oh not the fru fru - the actual filming.
