Ah,, yes. If I could only manage that.

I bought the fire truck for use by our two local volunteer fire companies,
the one in whose district my house resides and the second one in the city which
domiciles my office (and where Audrey happens to be Chief of Police as
well). Neither VFD seemed to have adequate equipment or the budget to obtain
it.
Still working out some bugs as to the 501(c)(3) non-profit which will own it
and lease it to the fire companies at one of those $1.00/yr deals. Sort of
selfish and philanthropic at the same time.

Oh, and I'll never give up on GPS. If it can guide a "Boomer" for the Navy,
and work as well as it did in our aircraft in the National Guard, it is part
of a way of life. I just wish I could find one that was preloaded with
1:50,000 terrain maps in the same way as nautical GPS units can be preloaded
with
charts. But, when the times comes that either the satellite system goes down
for a maintenance glitch, or more likely my GPS unit in the G-wagon fails,
that
celestial navigation trick might just turn out to be more than fun. And then
again, at my age, one should never pass up an opportunity to learn a new
skill. After all, I have to have something to do when the Altzheimer's strikes
in 20 or so years from now. Think about this picture, an old man, out in the
cold after taking a leak and forgetting to zip up, wandering around the high
desert in the winter trying to figure out how to get to safety after locking
his keys in the G-wagon before the wizz, or worse yet has it run out of gas
waiting for the urine to pass <g>. This could, of course, be a current
exposure
in AR if you substitute a military VW K-wagon for the G (vbg>

My neighbor has a 1950s firetruck, and lets me borrow it whenever I want. I
drive it in parades from time to time. He keeps trying to sell it to me, but
I tell him I won't consider it until he stops letting me borrow it. :)

And God invented GPS for a reason! ;)
