The top federal rate is 36 percent plus the "millionaire's" AMT penalty that 
hits millions of taxpayers.  The lowest rate is zero for the 40 pct who earn 
income but who pay no income tax.

A highly progressive rate structure that some people feel is still not enough.

The tax burden should not rest on the shoulders of those who can "afford" it, 
but I have often heard about the top 5% paying over 50 % of our taxes 
etc..........but I have never heard the cumulative gross income of that top 5% 
.....BUT, I would bet that their gross is over 50% of the gross annual income 
of all, so why is it unfair?�� Some day I would love to see a serious breakdown 
of who is paying the most taxes on monies earned, and how many of that top 5% 
are really earning what they are recieving. 
Those who are possibly being penalized are that very small percentage who are 
actually earning what they are paid.

And yes, had I inherited mega�wealth from old money oil, banking, railroad etc. 
I might feel differently how ever I did not and I do not.

Hey, it is only money.... but the problem is that with out�money one is not 
likely to buy a 550 Marranello�even at todays bargain prices.
