"All", "none" "always" and "never" are all lies.  The point is 

1.  There already is a very substantial taxpayer paid support system of 
unemployment, medicare, welfare and other safety net programs to address all of 
the examples you cited.

2.  There is a huge amount of waste, fraud and inefficiency in those programs.  
Any expansion of those government  programs paid for by taxpayers  should only 
be considered very carefully in the context of the limitations on government as 
framed by our founding fathers  and only as a last resort.

3.  The main point is not to shift the tax burden to fewer and fewer people.  
When nearly half of the people pay no income taxes at all in an economy with 6 
pct unemployment that means there are a LOT of people with jobs who don't pay 
taxes.  That is just wrong as it disenfranchises the higher earners who pay for 
that 40 percent's share of their government.

See, conservatives can be disenfranchised too!

I agree the system probably does need reform.  The point I can not agree 
with here is that these people are all freeloaders... Or that if they 
get help they suddenly would become freeloaders...
