I read this as very-positive. The Italians make great SMALL cars, and are willing to help a US company build some, which is what the Chinese market for US cars have been screaming-for for years (Chinese gas 'might' be state-subsidized, but it ain't cheap there, either). Fiat gets access to US models, as well as a large foothold into the US market for the re-introduction of Alfa Romeo - now Fiat has a US Logistics pipeline already in-place, a dealer network for sales and service....etc. Everybody wins. BTW, last time I read, Fiat wasn't a cash-buyer of Chrysler, so who says Chrysler is now a 'component' of Fiat??? The relationship was more 'partner' than 'owner/ownee'..... As far a I know, Canada doesn't have a domestic car, or hasn't for a very long time; we just bolt a number of different models together for other countries. Here, a Honda is just as domestic as a Ford, although many here would argue with me.
