        Man, has everyone owned 100 cars in their lifetime?  Here's my 
list for those of us with smaller stables:

1978 Ford Fiesta - bought from parents.  Cheap, lightweight, very 
tossable.  Drove 100K miles for work.
1985 VW GTI - bought new, drove 30k for work, died at 6 months of age at 
the hands of a Civic driver unable to apply her brake pedal.
1986 VW GTI - bought new to replace the '85.  Still own with 268K, some 
work driving, mostly personal, 15 years of autocrossing.  Always my baby, 
never to be sold.
1981 VW Rabbit - $400 beater, drove 85K for work.  Sold for $650.
1985 Chevy Van - bought for work, drove 100K.  POS that bankrupted me 
(literally).
1987 VW Golf GL - drove her 500K for work.  Bought her for $2K, sold for $1K.
2001 VW TDI - salvage yard gem restored to life, driven her 35K for work so 
far, hopefully many more to come...

        Looks like there's a trend here...
