Hey Rick --
You bought it! Good for you! I'm sure you're enjoy driving it. BTW,The sound is unique as you know. Not Ferrari unique but unique just the same. I recenly installed an Ansa exhaust on my MG - hopefully I'll
be able to start it soon and hear how it sounds.

Now the fun part (for me) starts - going thru all the systems and planning their repair. ;-) finding parts, deciding
how to proceed - that kind of stuff -

BTW, I did a full restore on my 66 MGB and regret that was my only choice. It's a major big deal to do a project like this, much better to tackle small projects one at a time IMHO.

Good luck and pls keep us informed.
.
Sincerely,
Larry T (74 911, 91 300D 2.5T)

Subject: [Ferrari] Sports cars

Hey Gang,

A couple of days ago I wrote a note about upscaling measurements
from one scale to that of another. Its part of what I do in my job. I compared it all the the experiences of driving different size cars.
And although that note generated a good deal of geek chatter, the
thread of the message was subliminal.
The reason for the post was to prepare you for an announcement. I
have decided that my old Mercedes project car is just too rusty
(structural rust) for me to attack in my garage. The second reason is that Mercedes parts cost even MORE than Ferrari parts, but the finished product is worth very little. It is the classic financial-black-hole
restoration project.
To replace the M-B project, I have bought another sports car.
And yes, it is a little British sports car. Here are a couple of
pictures of a car similar to the one I bought. Same colors and not
far off the same condition. http://www.aubard.us/tr3a/TR3a_1.jpg
and http://www.aubard.us/tr3a/TR3a_1.jpg .
It is a 1961 Triumph TR3a and it is as close to a true "barn find"
as one might ever encounter in this lifetime. It is a one-owner,
completely original, always-garaged gem. I take delivery in early
April.

Happy Saturday,

rick
