I have to clarify things a bit for the record. While BMW and Audi make highly
technological advanced vehicles. Mercedes Benz decade after decade has made
the most dependable/durable vehicles of the three car makers. The Mercedes
Benz quality only went down after it was purchased the merger with Chrysler, I
guess they began cutting corners. The proof is that way more Mercedes Benz'
remain on the road that are used as daily drivers no matter if they are 10, 20,
30 years old versus the other German car makers. So while some of us may have
preferences to a certain car model because its sportier or more technologically
advanced, there is a reason why some of the other German car makers mainly
lease their cars with their fabulous maintenance and warrantly packages but
after that 5 or 6 year period most of their cars lose most of their value and
end up more than other car makers as parts cars because they are not built to
last beyond 8 years or so. In my
household we have 4 Benzes from the 80s and 90s that get daily driver use with
little if any problems and everything is pretty straight forward to fix as
compared to others.
