Did you see the segment on the movable front wing flap done by Jock Clear of Brawn GP? He indicated that the drivers can use the flap to increase front down force in order to get closer in the curves and then slingshot pass on the straights.

Do recall that although Matchett is smart, his analysis is just an opinion. If
the diffuser makes it harder to draft - which we are only assuming - its a
by-product of increased under-body down-force, not an anti-drafting device.
That's a lot of hyphenated words in one sentence!

The Speed commentators were saying that the double level
diffusers make
pasing more difficult-they say the air is disturbed which
negates what the
Sporting Regulations attempted to do-make overtaking
easier-in this example.
So, why did the Court of Appeal decide to declare the
diffusers used by
Williams, Toyota, and Brawn not in violation? Maybe they
didn't violate the
letter of the law, but, given the information above, I
would say they
certainly violate the spirit. Now, when everyone gets
their modified
diffusers on their cars, overtaking will, according to what
I heard during
the Bahrain Grand Prix, more difficult. More difficult
than last year?
Don't know. More difficult than was planned for this
season? Yep.
So...?

No kidding,

I haven't enjoyed F1 racing this much, well ever
really...
The amount of passing, the fact that the TV coverage
has trouble keeping
up with the action, the text showing position
constantly being slightly
out of date...

Some of the moves these drivers put on each other...
Man I'd swear they
all were going to start chewing tobacco if they
didn't have to turn
right once in a while... That is racing. The
Schumacher years, you
watched for who survived the accidents at the 1st
corner, then it was a
parade to the end of the race...
