ah ah ah - I too did the same reverse rope thing on the same learning hill as the J.C. Higgins wet brakes. We wont get into that same hill vs Doug and his skate board (one real roller skate cut in half and nailed to a 2x4) AYieeee

My first experience was when I reversed the rope on the steering on my down hill wooden "box car" .....what a suprise .....subsequently I did learn to check my work before going down hill.

Ah hah - me too - and the first time I learned the soft spots of mechanical enterprise was while working on my Schwinn's coaster brake system - AYIIeeeeeeee

Another braking system & more lessons learned - J.C. Higgins, 3 speed bike with pincher type rim brakes. Do NOT go down a steep hill just after washing the bike. Brake pads + soapy water + wet rims = AYIIIEEeeeeeee
