David,

Well, What I think that may have worked was I unhooked the cabling that connects to the Ecu unit. I then cleaned it out both connector and socket on the ecu with CR contact celaner and then blew it all out with compressed air til it is dried completely. Hooked averything back up ran the F355 for 4 cycles 20 minutes and no CEL lights yet ( Hoping and praying). I will run the ferrari for several miles tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for all your inputs so far.

Thanks,

George

Hi George,

Common problem in all 355s. Okay ? all Ferraris since the 348!

The quality of the connectors used in the harness is the absolute cheapest they could find. The PROPER way of fixing this is to replace all the connectors with the gold plated ones. Dave Helms at Scuderia Rampante in Colorado makes a kit for this. http://scuderiarampante.com/ and http://www.scuderiarampanteinnovations.com/solutions.html#gold Dave is probably the best 355 mechanic in the country, if not the world. He really is THAT good. Give him a call on 303 938 9000 and tell him what?s going on with the car, and that I suggested he call you.

It is not likely that the ECU is bad, but if it is, it may be the EPROM that?s playing up. I?ve seen a few of those cause problems. The easiest way is to get a replacement EPROM. Dave can advise you on that too ? they are about $200 installed if memory serves me right.

I had a 95 355 also and it was the best car I ever had ? wish I still had it in fact.

Kind Regards,

Dave Thursby

Check engine lights 1-4 on my F355 come on. Was wondering if anyone has had this similar problem? It has a 2.7 motronics  and I pulled the codes from the unit and got 1313 codes which means the ECU unit is bad etc. But the Car runs great and maybe the idle is slightly rough but not bad and at high speed runs like a champ! SO I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and if maybe a quick cleaning of the connectors might be the fix to this issue? Please advise.

Thanks,

George
