Funny. All of my friends thought the same thing.  How organized and thankful each recipient of emergency rations were in a video.  They bowed and thanked the volunteer workers, walk in single file, no crowding or complaining especially in comparison to Katrina victims.  Hopefully the world learns a lot more from the disaster than just how to prepare for one but how to recover. 

 

I still find it amazing how we still have trouble recovering from Katrina yet the Tsunami survivors of 2004 recovered better/faster in 3rd world conditions.  I have friends that still volunteer to this day on missions of rebuilding.  I was embarrassed when Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear questioned during a US filming in the south how the rest of America can sleep with New Orleans still in the condition it was a couple of years after Katrina.  I'd have to say a big part of the problem are the people waiting for handouts, but let's not start that topic on the list.  We all know what I'm thinking and probably agree on most of it....

Good observation Rob.  My GF and I were discussing this on monday. I think  back to how the cretans in the superdome behaved after Katrina...  As a society, the Japanese are much better behaved than we are.
