Yep.  R12 is the best, if you can find it affordably.  Some are using ES12a which is also a large molecule refrigerant but it is flameable.  In some cases that would be okay but it would scare me in a 308.

Found some on line 30lbs to be exact

And the system on the 512 TR is still going strong

It puts out 39 degree air !

Clyde asked about refrigerant in the gtb;
I converted to R134a as the whole system is new (from RetroAir) and designed for 134.
Testarossa is running R134a too but the Mondial, Jaguar and Rolls are using Freeze12 (which has since been discontinued).
