Picture this – its in the late 1960’s at Rattle Snake Raceway, Texas, – domain of one genius car builder Jim Hall.  Now Jim had a Dobie – a BIG Dobie.  A bit aloof, and coming on to his turf – you’d be greeted with a squinted eye look, a look up and down, then back to snoozing on the cool concrete.  One thing tho – the Coke machine.  Dime goes in – selection made – machine delivers a tobogganing coke bottle down the chute.  Dobie levitates 2 feet into the air within .031 seconds and goes thru his ass hole trying to get out of there.  Other than that coke machine – the grounds were plenty safe.

If trained properly they are like fighters

Yeah, but the problem is that Dobermans are too smart for your own good... I've seen a Doberman turn tail and haul ass 'cause someone pointed a gun at them.  Kinda defeats the purpose, IMHO.  Plus, I've seen FAR too many Doberman fear biters.  Neurotic nutcases about 50% of the time from my previous experience.

Mals are great working dogs, but having worked K9 before and seen first hand how crazy they ALL are, you couldn't pay me to own one in the home.  That's the one great thing about GSDs, they're actually able to turn the crazy on or off depending on whether they're working or not.

My accounting manager used to train Belgian Malanois for the military when she was in the service. The bond of a good team is really hard to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it...
