Grahame,

I apologize for not reading and chiming in earlier -- this was my
problem on my 308 once, too. I fixed it and it has held since then.
Good luck!

Well, changing the relays, checking all the fuses and cleaning up all those
connections did not fix the problem, but now I have a few spare relays! ;-)
I was getting quite confused with what was going on, because it seemed
somewhat random and did not seem to exactly fit with what I have read in the
FChat archives and so on.

Anyway, frustrated, I popped in to see Russ (a great Ferrari technician) who
in less than a minute had isolated the likely problem. As we twisted the
light switch at the end of the stalk through its normal 90 degrees,
connection was being made and then lost, with lights popping up then down.

Five minutes later, with the switch pulled apart, we could see the problem -
a little green earth wire had broken loose so that it was only making
passing connection as the switch was twisted. So, a bit of solder, a little
bit of a clean-up of connections while in there and it all works perfectly
now. Success!!

Cheers,

Grahame
